Knowledge
It's so rare that one actually sees history, as a living, breathing entity. The reenactor I talked to at Fort Matanzas last month spoke for several hours about everything from royalty to living conditions to firearm technology of the era. To have knowledge so deep and broad, such that one can understand the nuances of 16th century politics, why they existed, and how the repercussions of those events are still felt today...is to truly master history. Such a damn rare sort of person to meet, like a walking Wikipedia...shame there aren't more like the same.
In short, my current politics teacher leaves a bit to be desired. I suppose my GPA isn't that important anyways.
